Exceptional Me Groups

What is Exceptional Me?

Our small group programs are thoughtfully crafted to meet the unique needs of children across various age groups and developmental stages. These programs provide a supportive and structured environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. For younger children preparing to enter kindergarten, we offer specialized groups focused on building essential readiness skills, including fine motor coordination, gross motor development, and foundational social skills. These sessions are designed to ease the transition into a school setting while fostering confidence and independence.

For children with high-functioning autism or challenges in social engagement, emotional regulation, and coping skills, we provide targeted groups aimed at developing these critical areas. Led by our experienced occupational therapists, each program incorporates interactive activities and meaningful peer interactions to enhance social abilities, emotional resilience, and peer engagement. By prioritizing a safe, nurturing space, we help children build connections, improve communication, and develop lifelong skills that set the stage for future success.

Program Objectives

Improve Social Skills: Participants will engage in activities that foster essential social skills, including communication, turn-taking, sharing, and understanding social cues.

Enhance Peer Interaction: Our program encourages children to build relationships with peers, promoting friendship and collaboration through guided group interactions.

Boost Confidence: By practicing social skills in a supportive setting, children will gain confidence in their ability to navigate social situations.

Encourage Community Engagement: The program includes opportunities for children to engage in community-based activities, helping them apply their skills in real-world settings.

Enhanced Fine motor / Visual motor development: Our skilled therapists lead engaging sessions that prioritize the achievement of developmental milestones and school readiness for younger children. This focus is a fundamental aspect of our group programs, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive in their development.
