Occupational Therapy Assistant

Mike has been with OT4KIDS for over 15 years. He has a diverse working background in acute, inpatient, outpatient, home health, and pediatric settings. Always smiling, "Mr. Mike" has a peaceful manner of handling the most chaotic of situations. He is a master of setting up a therapeutic environment, skillfully meeting client needs to support "teachable moments". This allows clients to achieve the optimal state of alertness for building new skills and attaining their full potential.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Ashley has done volunteer work with Hinds Feet Farm, Wings of Eagles Ranch, and Learning Charms Handwriting Camp. Her strengths include sensory integration techniques and behavioral strategies. Ashley's dream has always been to work with children and feels very fulfilled working with OT4KIDS!

Emilee Hines, COTA/L

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Emilee is a new graduate of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. The inspiration for becoming a COTA came from her two older sisters, one is a COTA and the other is an OT. Emilee enjoys reading, being outside, working out, and hanging out with friends!

Occupational Therapist 

Michala is a new graduate born and raised here in Lexington, NC. Michala discovered her passion for occupational therapy after seeing the huge impact OT had on her little brother. She would accompany her little brother to his therapy sessions which sparked her drive to become an occupational therapist. In her free time, Michala enjoys spending time with her family and friends, snowboarding, and reading.

Mackenzie Lyon, COTA/L

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Mackenzie is a graduate from Thomasville NC and super excited to start off in the peds world. Her passion for OT came from shadowing OTs in high school and seeing the impact OT can make while remaining holistic and having fun. She has a background working with kids through volunteering at summer camps and the youth within her church. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and her dog Remington, shopping, and traveling.

Abby Kane, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist 

Abby Kane, originally from Pittsburgh, PA, is a passionate occupational therapist at OT4KIDS. With two years of experience at OT4KIDS, she has worked with children facing a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, feeding difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. Abby finds joy in helping children achieve independence and confidence, whether it’s mastering new skills, trying something for the first time, or simply engaging more comfortably with the world around them. Outside of work, she loves traveling to discover new places and spending time with her beloved dog Sye.

Celeste is a new grad from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and has a background working with students as a Special Education teacher as well as volunteering at Wings of Eagles therapeutic riding camp. Celeste is very excited to start her pediatric journey in occupational therapy to help kids reach their full potential. In her free time Celeste enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Jalan Harper, COTA/L

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Jalan has always had a heart to love and serve kids in any capacity. She is a native of Knoxville, TN where she had been working as an RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician), for an ABA company that provided services for children with ASD. Because of OT4Kids, she was granted the opportunity of working at ABC of NC where she enjoys entering the world of children with ASD and making a positive impact on their life one day at a time. Her drive to become an occupational therapy assistant came from personal life experiences through caring for children with special and/or developmental needs. Things that she loves to do in her free time include spending time with family, rest and relaxation, art, and playing outdoors with her German Shepherd named Koda.
